A Lytx camera is only as good as where it is mounted and how it is powered. We install DriveCam event recorders and Surfsight dash cams at your location, wire them the way the manufacturer requires, and check the live picture before the vehicle rolls.
Lytx cameras and service plans are not something we sell, and our company has no connection to Lytx. As independent installers we do the physical work: mounting, fused power, tidy cable runs and a calibrated camera.
Event recorders, dash cams, and the wiring behind them.
The DriveCam is a two-lens recorder that watches both the road and the cab. It mounts on the windshield with its bracket and security clip, and runs on 12 or 24 volt power.
Surfsight cameras go as high as possible on the driver's side of the glass, where one lens sees the road and the other sees the driver's upper body.

Hardwired cameras connect at the fuse box with their own fuse and a proper ground bolt. No clamp-on tap connectors, and no sharing a connection with another aftermarket device.
Where it suits the vehicle, the camera is powered from the diagnostic port instead. First we make sure no other device is already using that port.

Tractors and heavy trucks get the correct cabling for their diagnostic connector and their voltage.

Before finishing, both camera views are checked live, the motion sensor is calibrated, and the cellular and GPS connections are confirmed. You receive photos of the mounting spot and the power connection.
Camera installs are quick when the cab is ready and the decisions are already made.

Placement decides what the camera can see. For Surfsight cameras, the guidance is to mount as high as possible on the driver's side, with a clear view of the road and of the driver's upper body, and at least 63 inches above the ground so the road-facing driver-assist features work. Nothing can sit in front of either lens. Once the spot is chosen, we set the viewing angles, tighten the security screws, and confirm both pictures on the live view before the adhesive is pressed home.
A camera and tracker together run about 30 minutes per vehicle when the vehicle is ready. A hardwired camera, with a fuse-box connection and a hidden cable run, takes longer than one powered from the diagnostic port. Your written quote shows which method each vehicle gets.
Lytx is one of many brands we install. We also fit Geotab, Samsara, Motive and Verizon Connect equipment, so cameras and trackers from different makers can go in on the same visit.
These rules come from the camera maker's own installation warnings. We follow every one.
An unfused power wire is a fire risk. Each camera gets its own correctly rated fuse.
Cables and mounts must never interfere with airbags or their sensors. We route around them, not across them.
Cables are secured at least every foot and protected wherever they cross metal, so nothing rubs through over time.
